Employment and Promotional Opportunities for Young Tasmanian Writers

Tasmanian Writers' Centre

Opportunity One: The Tasmanian Writers' Centre has received funding from the Australia Council for its Write in Your Face programs for writers under thirty.

The TWC’s projects; Being Zine! A series of workshops for zine writers and makers, and The Brew, will include opportunities for younger Tasmanian writers to develop and present new works.

For Being Zine, the TWC invites writers who have a comprehensive understanding of the zine scene - whether that be in zine writing and or production, or zine networking marketing and distribution - to express interest in developing and presenting workshops to local zine writers and makers. The experienced Zine Writer might be living in Tasmania…or they might not!

Opportunity Two: The Brew is an opportunity for young Tasmanian writers to develop new works to be printed and presented in a particular café in Hobart. The works will be published in stands placed upon the café’s tables and left for the clientele to read and consider.

For this project the TWC seeks expressions of interest from young Tasmanian writers keen to participate, as well as a young Tasmanian writer interested in editing the selection of each issue of The Brew. This is a paid gig!

If either of these are write up your contact the Tasmanian Writers' Centre:
