James Charlton: guest speaker for next FAW meeting 11 Feb

FAW meeting: Friday 11th February 7.30PM Friends’ Meeting House, 395 Argyle St., North Hobart, guests welcome.

The AGM will be followed by guest speaker James Charlton, whose award-winning poetry collection, Luminous Bodies, was published by Montpelier Press in 2002. He is poetry editor of the Australian literary quarterly, Island, published in Tasmania. He is also advisory editor for Australasia of Chautauqua Literary Journal, a journal of poetry, prose, reviews and criticism sponsored by the Chautauqua Institution in New York. Charlton was recently the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Australia Council's Literature Board and a current Arts Tasmania grant recipient to assist in writing a collection of poetry exploring the voices of mystics and martyrs.
