Melbourne Overloads on Poetry
VIC | On Until 25.08.2004
Overload Poetry Festival is back. More poets than ever before, more readings and performances, more workshops, more surprises & more audience members. And that’s where you come in. Bring your friends, family, the stranger you were checking out on the bus . . . Not that we’re encouraging stalking - just the general dissemination of this poetic vibe that’s going on...

Bringing poets and word-based artists from around the country, and, indeed, the world, to Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong, and the Dandenongs, the Overload Poetry Festival is now in it's 3rd year, and huge!

15 days, featuring over 60 separate events from readings to installations, workshops, forums, to launches and debates, open mics, slams, zine fairs, and parties.

Workshop your concrete poetry with piO or your comic bite with Kerry Scuffins! Talk about how to run a festival with the Overload organisers, or get involved in the birth of a national poetry slam competition at the Oz Slam forum! Swoon to the sounds of poetry mixed with performance, inspiration, video, politics, electro and jazz at the multitude of night time and daytime gigs housed in Melbourne's warm and comfortable venues!

If you're a poet, you can't miss this chance to immerse yourself in Australia's wide and rich community. If you love poetry, don't miss this chance to infuse some of the country's best! And if you don't love poetry, this festival might just change your mind!

Programmes are available now by calling 03 9415 8089 or get online at www.overloadpoetry.com
