Retired neurosurgeon and Buddhist Ian Johnston has moved to Bruny Island off the coast of Tasmania, where he devotes himself to translating from the Chinese the poems of Tang dynasty poets, including Wang Wei (699-759).

Ian's translations appear in the collection SInging of Scented Grass: verses from the Chinese, published by Pardalote Press.
