Queensland competition to unearth aspiring young poets
The poetry of school students will take to the buses around Queensland as part of a new competition that aims to increase the profile of poetry and develop the skills of our next generation of artists. Poetry on the Move, a joint initiative of Arts Queensland and Education Queensland, is open to children and young people who attend government and non-government schools. The project will raise the profile of writing, provide new publishing opportunities for young poets and present positive images of young people. Poetry written by the winning students will be displayed on buses around the State and other public places. To download an application form or to find out more telephone (07) 3237 1363 or visit http://education.qld.gov.au/curriculum/literacy/poetry/
