Saturday 12 October 2- 4pm in Gallery 3 (next to the Pugin Exhibition) at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (enter via the Courtyard between Davey and Macquarie Sts, Hobart) Blank and Free: poetry and prose readings by local and visiting writers, including BRIAN ANDREWS and TANSY RAYNER-ROBERTS, as well as the 2002 Burnie City Writer in Residence, Sydney playwright, JULIE JANSON, and visiting Indonesian writer, NURHIDAYAT POSO. This series of readings supported by the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and the Tasmanian Writers' Centre. All welcome to this free event.




Saturday 12 October 10am - 4pm at the Neighbourhood House, 25 Circassion Street, St Helens. The Tasmanian Writers' Centre presents the Break O' Day Writer in Residence Lyn Reeves.




Saturday 12 October 10am - 4pm in the Green Room at the Republic Bar & Cafe, 299 Elizabeth Street, North Hobart, The Tasmanian Writers' Centre presents South Australian poet, Martin R. Johnson who'll be conducting his poetry workshop.




Sunday 13 October 10am - 4pm in the Green Room of the Republic Bar & Cafe, 299 Elizabeth Street (corner of Burnett Street), North Hobart AND AGAIN on Saturday 19 October 10am - 4pm at Creative Living Centre, 2 Spring Street Burnie. The Tasmanian Writers' Centre presents Burnie City Writer in Residence, Julie Janson. Julie will conduct her Writing for Performance Workshop.

This is the last three weeks of the 2002 Republic Readings series:

13 Oct – SA poet Martin Johnson.



Martin has three collections of poetry with Wakefield Press, Penguin and Cornford Press. He’s been flown over by the readings thanks to the Republic Bar and Cafe and Cornford Press. You can see his bio on the Tasmanian Writers Centre Calendar – he's giving a workshop on Saturday.
