'Cornerfold' launches in December and is seeking submissions to the two weblogs on the site. It's a great opportunity for young people to be published on a web site of a national broadcaster with a strong committment to diversity and independence.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS TO CORNERFOLD
Original work by Australian zinemakers gets a new-media design treatment in Cornerfold (www.cornerfold.com.au ), an SBS website launching in December 2002. Contributors to the first issue of Cornerfold magazine include zinesters Vanessa Berry, Natasha Cho, Mandy Ord, and Gregory Mackay. Cornerfold is looking for submissions to the two Cornerfold weblogs: pixelstories and like it is. They're after nuggetty little stories (max. 500 words) as well as small visual works. Entries must be on the theme of the first issue: childhood games. Visual works can be comics, photo-essays, Flash animations or Quicktime movies. Send your submissions and questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are considering a visual work, email Cornerfold for specifications on file sizes and formats before submitting. You can also get yourself on the Cornerfold mailing list at the pre-launch site, http://www.sbs.com.au/cornerfold/ .
